Description
FROST is a collaborative team of representatives from more than 80 community agencies, alongside community members with lived experience. Together, we are implementing a comprehensive plan to build and sustain a continuum of care in Forsyth County. Our work focuses on community education, primary prevention, overdose prevention, and harm reduction; removing barriers to treatment and recovery; and reducing the stigma surrounding substance use.
Progress in 2025
The Forsyth Regional Opioid & Substance Use Team (FROST) continues to provide naloxone trainings across Forsyth County in a variety of community settings, helping increase access to life-saving overdose prevention resources.
In addition to naloxone vending machines located throughout the county, free public syringe disposal kiosks are now available at three locations:
-
502 Broad St., Winston-Salem, NC 27101
-
650 Highland Ave., Winston-Salem, NC 27101
-
5755 Shattalon Dr., Winston-Salem, NC 27105
These expanded harm reduction efforts support safer communities by increasing access to naloxone and providing safe disposal options for used syringes.
