What We Do
Mission: To serve, through cooperative community action, our neighbors in Rowan County who are in crisis by providing essential life needs and educating and empowering them to break the cycle of crisis.
Rowan Helping Ministries provides
- Financial Crisis Assistance for rent, utilities, medicines, fans, window AC and heaters
- Food Pantry (1 per month visit) includes
- TEFAP Program - 3 locations in Rowan County Clothing Center - free and new and gently used Shelter Services - men, women, and families shelter and case management.
- Life Coaching - includes a savings match component up to $500.
- New Tomorrows - classes to empower and break the cycle of crisis - employability lab, mental health, art, etc.
- Transitional Housing
- Permanent Supportive Housing
- Partnership with Cabarrus Rowan Community Health Services for medical and mental health services on our campus
- Jeannie's Kitchen - noon meal open to public and breakfast and dinner to shelter residents 365 days a year
- Food or Thought - weekend food bags for food insecure students.
- Street Outreach to Homeless individuals
- Day Showers - 5 days a week open to individuals who otherwise would not have access to showers.

We serve low and no income residents of Rowan County
How We Impact
Prevents homelessness, provides food to food-insecure families and children, educates and empowers people to break the cycle of crisis, connects people to employment, shelters unhoused individuals, rehouses unhoused citizens, provides clothing including work attire, provides supportive housing for individuals/families who need extended services.
