Coastal Horizons Mobile Clinic is funded and contracted by Trillium to provide services to Bladen County.

The Coastal Horizons Mobile Clinics serve Brunswick, Columbus, and Bladen counties Monday through Friday, 10am to 3pm.

Coastal Horizons promotes healthier lives, stronger families, and safer communities by providing a broad range of effective, evidence-based substance use, mental health, crisis intervention, justice, and wellness services to persons in need.

Bladen County residents experienced (3) one-hundred-year events in less than 5 years:

• 2016 Hurricane Matthew

• 2018 Hurricane Florence

• 2019 Covid-19 Pandemic

While the entire county was affected, residents in the out-lying areas were more affected with flooding and loss of their homes, and often have less resources for transportation. When planning for Mental/Behavorial Health Mobile Units, much thought, effort, and design was given to provide access to all geographic regions of the County. Currently a mobile van visits literally every region of the county at least one-day a week. Bladen County has approximately 24,000 residents over 18 years of age. For this reason, low participation rates were expected. Goals were to provide quality services throughout the county, not focused on the number of participants!   

Coastal Horizon Mobile Clinic currently serves Bladen County Residents.  It is located at White Oak Fire Department on Monday, Ammon Fire Department on Tuesday, Hickory Grove Fire Department on Wednesday,, Bladen East Medical Center on Thursday and Kelly Fire Department on Friday. They offer the following services:  Assessments for Substance Use and Mental Health, Psychiatric Medication Management, Individual Therapy, Peer Support Services, Medication Assisted Treatment, Flu & Covid-19 vaccinations and Health Education.

In 2023, Coastal Horizons mobile unit served 82 members, 21 average per month.  Peer Support was the most common services.
