Catholic Charities provides support to the low income, immigrants, and poor in Fayetteville and Cumberland County North Carolina area.

How We Impact

  • When an emergency arises and or in between paychecks, there is often a struggle to purchase groceries. To help in this capacity, the Free Food Pantry provides approximately 3-5 days of shelf-stable food, fresh produce, and frozen meat to families in Cumberland County North Carolina who live in the service territory.
  • Supplies are given to new moms with infants or babies or expectant mother such as new clothes, diapers, bibs, cribs, car seats, towels and baby blankets. 
Progress in 2022-2023

In fiscal year 2022, Catholic Charities served 7,935 individuals and 3,998 households through its comprehensive assistance programs. These programs are designed to provide vital material support to individuals and families facing hardship, with services that include food, baby items, clothing, counseling, immigration assistance, limited financial aid for bills, and disaster relief.

Catholic Charities continues to make a significant impact by supporting communities through various outreach initiatives. They operate food pantries to address food insecurity and have launched new programs like the Immigration Legal Services Program and the Health Opportunities Pilot (HOP) to address broader social determinants of health. In addition, Catholic Charities partners with local organizations to raise funds, ensuring the continuation of these essential services. They also unite efforts to provide disaster relief, offering support to communities affected by crises. Through these efforts, Catholic Charities remains dedicated to meeting the needs of vulnerable populations.

Due to new management, Catholic Charities has tracked both unduplicated and duplicated clients in 2024. In fiscal year 2022, only unduplicated was tracked. Due to that, the unduplicated data was input into the performance measures although Catholic Charities served 5,081 duplicated households and 17,447 duplicated individuals.
