Brunswick’s size and lack of public transportation make it a challenge for many women to get necessary breast screenings. Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center’s mobile mammography coach is able to take breast health services to women across Brunswick County.

This service helps detect breast cancer in its earliest stages, ultimately saving lives throughout our community. In 2016, our mobile mammography coach traveled across the county three days a month, serving more than 500 women. It features digital mammography technology, all-female technicians, private changing and a separate clinical exam room.

Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center Foundation has been awarded a $29,900 grant from Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast (Komen NCTC). This Komen NCTC funding will support Brunswick Medical Center’s breast screening and diagnostic program for individuals who are uninsured or in need.

We strive to expand our community relationships to ensure we are reaching everyone in need and aim to keep these patients within the continuum of care by addressing disparities and increasing access to timely care.
