Agencies that are funded through the GCDPH and NCDHHS under the Integrated Targeted Testing Services (ITTS) program provide HIV/ STI screenings and education in various community locations in Guilford County. These locations include colleges and universities, stores, housing complexes, shelters, nightclubs, mobile clinics, and other community sites. In 2024, Guilford County outreach agencies had a significant presence in the community by providing sexual health education at health fairs, community workshops, HIV awareness events, and more.
Progress in 2025
Guilford County outreach agencies maintained a significant community presence providing sexual health education at health fairs, community workshops, HIV awareness events, and more in 2025. Examples included the Greensboro Pride Festival and Cone Health Center for Health Equity’s “Building A Better You” event.
Guilford County outreach agencies 2025 signature events included:
- Sexual Health Action Group (SHAG)’s PrEPare to Vibe event on March 14, 2025, with performances, a “Let’s Talk PrEP” informative panel discussion and STI testing.
- SHAG’s held an event for National HIV testing to include a short film experience and panel around youth sexual health held on June 26, 2025.
- SHAG’s 2025 World AIDS Day Observance in December included panelists from NCA&T, NC Department of Health and Human Services, and a student from UNCG.
- Triad Health Project held their 40th Ron Johnson Red Ribbon Week which included a memorial event at the Greensboro Governmental Plaza on December 1st in observance of World AIDS Day. This event was followed by a short film showing and refreshments at The Crown.
