Description
Americans with Disabilities Act facility that will incorporate an ADA playground as well as outdoor rehabilitation/exercise equipment. These playgrounds are designed to cater to a range of needs, including those related to mobility and cognitive differences, ensuring that no child feels excluded. Robeson County is partnering with Community Connect and Lumberton Kiwanians to build all-inclusive playgrounds for children throughout the communities in Robeson County. Families in Robeson County will have better opportunity to play and learn no matter what their abilities are. The playgrounds will also be tailored for children with autism and other sensory disorders and will include elements that children of various interests will enjoy. The playground includes wheelchair-accessible equipment and will be built on a pored rubber surface, which meets standards for “cushiness” but is also durable and sturdy enough for wheelchair traffic.
