The Community Response Task Force, a collaboration of local resources, between Davie County Division of Public Health, Division of Social Services, Law Enforcement, EMS, the Detention Center, and the Community Paramedic Team, that aim to serve members of the community who are impacted by substance use, poverty, and hardships. This group of individuals uses their expertise and resources to bridge gaps for individuals and families in the community. This group’s goal is to address barriers within local communities and systems that impede community members from reaching their full potential.  

This team impacts the community by advocating for resources and programs that can bridge gaps in care for local individuals. Outreach opportunities are created to connect local resources and workers to community members who may be eligible for resources. The intent of these programs and collaborations is to help community members through hardships or difficult circumstances. Creating support for our local community can help create an overall healthier and happier community. 

In 2023, the Community Response Task Force (CRTF) began work to implement a Bridge MAT program to the Davie County Community. MAT stands for medication-assisted treatment and is the use of medications in combination with counseling and behavioral therapies, which is effective in the treatment of opioid use disorders (OUD) and can help some people to sustain recovery. EMS/CP has gotten all the necessary protocol and staff to begin their Bridge MAT program. This program will allow the CRT to provide short-term MAT to eligible community members. To be eligible for this program, you must be already enrolled in the CRTF program, or be referred by a CRTF partner.
