Description
In February 2024, the church started the “Safe Space” program. This one-of-a-kind program offered at Perfecting Praise Ministries was established in response to youth suicides and mental health concerns identified in the church and community. They opened their church doors and partnered with a local behavioral health provider to offer participants mental health counseling/therapeutic services at no cost. This program provides an opportunity to engage and equip local churches and faith-based organizations with skills and resources to address behavioral health (mental health and substance use disorder) concerns among members and in the community. The church funds this program through its own budget and has recently applied for grants to help support its work. For more information on Safe Space Program, contact Bishop Alston and Perfecting Praise Ministries at 252-701-0026 or online at http://www.perfecting-praise.org.
