Progress in 2025
In 2025, Alamance County continued making progress in opioid overdose prevention through expanded access to Narcan and community engagement. A free Narcan vending kiosk was installed at the county’s Human Services Center, allowing anyone to get naloxone easily, while community giveaways and education events increased outreach. The county also uses a real-time overdose tracking system (ODMAP) to better target responses, and local groups like AC HOPE bring together health leaders, law enforcement, and advocates to coordinate prevention and recovery efforts. These actions, supported by statewide naloxone distribution and training, reflect a strong, community-wide approach to reducing overdoses and saving lives.
