Suicide Gatekeeper Training

Description

Suicide Gatekeeper training teaches people to identify individuals who are showing warning signs of suicide risk and help these individuals get the services they need. Training is available to the public, and is commonly used in institutions such as schools and colleges.

In Stanly County, Partners Health Management, Advocate (Atrium) Health, and Stanly Community College all have facilitators trained in either Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) or Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) gatekeeper programs.

Stanly County Collaborative Partners in Health Coalition and its sub-committee Suicide Prevention Council will promote MHFA and QPR training in the community.
