PM- HOW MUCH: NUMBER OF YOUTH SERVED 

At the end of HFY '21, Bright Beginnings was serving 13 of the 15 family target. While they are to maintain 15 families at all times, they are up 60% from this time last year. The program has experienced challenges recruiting and maintaining the 15 families, due to the inability to do traditional outreach, a direct response of the COVID-19 pandemic. The programs has not yet adopted a strategy to combat this challenge because of the restrictions mandated by the state and is currently working diligently to create a strategy that will keep staff and clients safe.

As our family support specialist closely monitor and communicate with each family, the family support specialist is able to focus on the progress and or/concerns of each family and provided service accordingly . Due to this, no surverys were administered . 

Health education and nutrition classe are a regular part of home visiting services. In addition, there were no reportings of food insecurities. If there are any reportings, the family are given multiple resrouces of food banks and pantries to alleviate any stress in that regard. 

The Home Visiting program will provide intensive home visiting services using the Healthy Families America Model to families to enhance the social and emotional development of the children they serve, connect families to food resources address immediate food insecurities, and provider nutrition education sessions to increase food security.  In addition, the program connects parents to academic and/or workforce development programs to ensure that the parents either earn a GED or are connected to an employer by the end of the program sessions.

Healthy Families/Home Visiting program will target teens up to 24 years old and mother with babies 3 months or younger who are FARM and SNAP eligible from the following zip codes: 20912, 20903, 20703, 20782, 20710, 20781, 20785, 20743, 20746, 20747, 20772, 20706, 20748, and 20745
