Action Plan
Additional outreach will be provided to the communities through the Health Department, housing and homeless shelters to reach disconnected youth. The Western MD Consoritum will partner with Washignton County Public Schools to help locate withdrawn disconnected youth. Western MD Consoritum will develop an easier enrollment/intake and orientation process. Follow-up will occur more frequently with the youth and the Consortium will develop mentoring and support for the youth.
Program Summary
The Western Maryland Consortium is a regional workforce development agency which offers a wide range of services which include GED attainment, resume development, skills training, and job search assistance to help participants utimlately become self-sufficient. Funding provided to the Western Maryland Consortium helps to fill gaps to provide additional and/or enhanced services to local disconnected youth.
Target Population
Youth ages 16-24 residing in Washington County who are neither working nor in school.
