Description
In 2023, with Vaya, the Alexander County Health Department and the System of Care grant funded by SAMHSA will use the National Outcome Measures to develop a program that will improve the lives of parents, families, and children. This will expand services and access to care for children and youth with mental, behavioral or emotional disorders and offer hands-on support to their families.
We serve all families of Alexander County.
By educating and improving the overall level of collaboration between organizations, parents and children, and the schools system we can we can increase the opportunities available to families and improve overall health and well-being. This program is still in the developing stages
Progress in 2024
The Child Collaborative has been working on a Preventative Management Team & a Crisis Management Team. Preventative management works alongside the school system to prevent mental health crises through early intervention.
The collaborative is putting together a crisis management team alongside a crisis management protocol that will fill in the gap in between when a crisis occurs. This pre-launches RHA to arrive to handle a psychiatric or mental health crisis need that has taken place. This will also assist emergency responders & reduce intervention time. Crisis management protocol will consist of levels for each crisis that occurs & subsequent response protocols. Individuals in the community who are trained with crisis management, suicide management, and incident management will be able to arrive on scene quicker and de-escalate the situation and be able to prioritize treatment and whether or not they need to go to the hospital, or be pulled from the scene and wait for RHA to come.
The Partnership for Children will be launching parenting classes in January of 2025.
