Strategies to improve these indicators
Why Is This Important?
School completion is noted as a priority because too few of Cecil County’s high school youth are graduating having met the requirements to enter the University System of Maryland (48% of Cecil’s graduates vs. 61% of the state’s graduates). This further impacts the proportion of the Cecil County population over 25 who obtain a bachelor’s degree or higher (20.4% in Cecil County in 2012, and 36.9% average statewide).
