Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP)

What is it?

The YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) is a CDC recognized program based upon proven strategies to help reduce your risk of developing type 2 diabetes. This group-based program, led by a lifestyle coach helps adults with pre-diabetes and have excess weight, achieve 7% weight loss while exploring how healthy eating, in-creasing physical activity, reducing stress, and problem solving can benefit their health.

  • Sessions are held virtually and/or in person. Participants attend 25 one-hour sessions over the course of a year (16 weekly sessions and 9 monthly sessions)
