What We Do
Pink Sunday provides an opportunity to strengthen existing partnerships and engage new partners with the unified goal to educate women about the importance of yearly screening mammograms. During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Pink Sundays are held at a number of churches across the county giving health information and education on mammography and the Mobile Mammography Program. This program allows community members to have open conversations about the importance of early detection and to celebrate those who have fought against breast cancer.
Who We Serve
Screenings will be provided to women of all racial and ethnic groups who are age 35 and older. Women of racial and ethnic minority groups are historically marginalized and underserved. We serve women who part of racial and ethnic minority groups age 35 and older. The goal is to encourage women in this group to get their yearly mammograms and emphasize the importance of early detection of breast cancer.
How We Impact
Death rates among racial and ethnic minority groups are higher than that of Caucasian women. The goal of Pink Sunday is to educate women on the importance of yearly screening mammograms and the importance of early detection of breast cancer. Mammograms can detect breast cancer before it can be felt by a breast exam. The priority population is women 35 and older who are part of racial and ethnic minority groups. Screenings will be provided to women of all racial and ethnic group who are age 35 and older.
