The mental health supplemental question set was added to the Child CAHPS survey in 2021. The introduction to this set of questions reads, "People can get counseling or mental health treatment for many different reasons, such as: Feeling depressed, anxious, or stressed. Personal problems (like when a loved one dies or when there are problems at school). Family problems (like marriage problems or when parents and children have trouble getting along). Needinghelp with drug or alcohol use."
