2022 Progress on CHIP
Mount Zion Community Development started Project NAF (Nurturing Asheville and Area Families) in 1998 to support for African American mothers by providing culturally sensitive and individualized services to women while they are pregnant and during their baby s first two years of life ’s first two years. Project NAF is currently expanding their services by enhancing their outreach efforts with the addition of a registered nurse and nurse practitioner. Participants of this program will now be able to participate in health screenings such as blood pressure, weight, and screening for anxiety/depression.
