Wake County works to engage the community about affordable housing and homelessness needs and resources that are provided to the community. 

In 2023, Wake County's Affordable Housing and Community Revitalization Department initiated much of the community engagement around affordable housing services. However, Within the Division of Population Health at Wake County Health and Human Services, the Live Well Wake and HealthLit4Wake programs have participated in community outreach events sharing information with residents and partnering with local organizations to connect residents to Wake County Services. 

In 2024, Wake County's Community Engagement Coordinator for the Affordable Housing and Community Revitalization Department lead many of the community outreach initiatives around affordable housing in the county. In addition, Live Well Wake, HealthLit4Wake, Community Health Workers, and host of partners have supported community outreach initiatives across the county to increase awareness of and utilization of county services for residents.
