Youth tobacco use has been highlighted as a rising concern for many years in Montgomery County by key community stakeholders. The 2020 Vision group, consisting of many community organizations, has consistenly looked for ways to integrate vaping cessation programs geared toward youth in an effort to prevent the use of tobacco products.  Our partners are 

• Montgomery County School System
• Montgomery County Department of Health
• Region 6 Tobacco Collaborative

All school aged people in Montgomery County. 

During 2022-2023, educators from Montgomery County Department of Health along with staff from FirstHealth of the Carolinas trained with regional consultants on how to implement the Catch my Breath training in the local school system. Collaboration through the Montgomery County 2030 group

Educators worked with Communities in Schools to highlight key areas of implementation for education based activities for school aged students.
