NC Medicaid Expansion began in December 2023, which broadened the income eligibility guidelines for all NC adults to become eligible for Medicaid. As of August 2024, Yadkin County has 1,740 newly enrolled adults. 58.2% of those are female (1,013) and 41.8% (727) are male.

As of December 2024, Yadkin County had 1891 newly enrolled adults in Medicaid as a result of expansion. 59.1% are female (1117) and 40.9% are male (774). The Yadkin County Medical Clinic has seen an uptick in newly enrolled Adult Health patients. These patients were formerly seen at the free clinic, but not have Medicaid.
