The Triple P – Positive Parenting Program is one of the most effective evidence-based parenting programs in the world, backed up by more than 35 years of ongoing research. Triple P gives parents simple and practical strategies to help them build strong, healthy relationships, confidently manage their children’s behavior and prevent problems developing. Triple P is used in more 30 countries and has been shown to work across cultures, socio-economic groups and in many different kinds of family structures. Triple P is designed to be with parents on every step of their journey, providing help and guidance to families when they need it. It aims to create supportive family environments, and to prevent, as well as treat, behavioral and emotional problems in children and teenagers. Triple P programs draw on social learning, cognitive behavioral and developmental theory, in addition to research into risk factors associated with the development of social and behavioral problems in children. We equip parents with the skills and confidence they need to be able to manage any family issue.

Yadkin County Human Services Agency has 4 staff members enrolled in the Triple P training and will complete the training in October 2024 to better assist our clients. Once those staff complete the training data will be submitted to demonstrate the effectiveness of the program.

Training on Triple P was delayed for staff due to Hurricane Helene, so there are no measures to report. The training was rescheduled for staff and completed in February 2025. Staff will begin implementing this once they have completed the required components of accreditation for the course. Currently, we have 2 staff that attended the course, which is different from the original plan in 2024. We modified our attendee list due to needs of the staff and programs.
