What We Do
211 and other platforms such as OC Connect, which is a resource guide unique to Orange County, provide information on organizations and resources that service a variety of needs. Each platform can be broken down into the needed service, such as housing, food, or child care, and the person utilizing the platform can find multiple organizations near them to contact. One benefit of 211 is that people can call in and speak to a live person that connects them with the service provider. The platforms are also available in languages other than English.
Who We Serve
211 and OC Connect are available to all people 24/7.
How We Impact
Orange County has a plethora of resources but navigating them can be a challenge due to personal preferences, lack of internet connection or comfort with technology, and difficulties with vision, hearing, and literacy. By connecting people in Orange County to these platforms, we can increase the number of people who are connected to services that address their needs.
Progress in 2024
Many partner agencies and community organizations agree that community members need assistance in finding and using the services available in Orange County. Orange County Health Department shares community resource information in waiting areas, at community events, through social media posts, and other opportunities like health department classes or trainings. Information shared includes 211 information, OC Connect, and other local resource guides, like paper guides created by community partners.
