What We Do
The financial literacy program enlightens our citizens about the importance of financial knowledge and how to maintain healthy financial habits during a crucial time considering our current state and county poverty data. The N.C. Cooperative Extension, Nash County Center provides information, workshops, and resources on financial literacy. We hope to teach our citizens the importance of financial independence, how to manage money, and life skills that will empower them with what it takes to achieve financial freedom.
Who We Serve
The goal is to serve all citizens within our community. We want all citizens in Nash County to learn how to be self-sufficient early as young adults or even older adults who need to know the importance of financial independence and learn how to set a budget and understand a Credit Report. We want all citizens to be informed about money management and life skills that will empower them with what it takes to achieve financial freedom and maintain healthy financial habits.
How We Impact
These programs offer various sessions to all citizens to inform participants about financial independence during early years of life and beyond. We empower our citizens about different topics to educate them about the importance of financial independence to help guide them to healthy habits for finances and self-sufficiency. Our citizens learn how to create a budget, a debt-elimination plan, how to shop smart to save money and how to understand credit, with these sessions we hope to inform our citizens about financial independence.
