This is a self-reported measure of overall health status reported every 3 years through the Community Health Assessment. The most current results are from 2023.
2023 results show that:
- 44% of Lucas County adults rated their health as ‘excellent’ or ‘very good’.
- 16% of adults rated their health as ‘fair’ or ‘poor’, increasing to 29% for those with incomes less than $25,000.
In the 2023 assessment, adults were most likely to rate their health status as "fair" or "poor" if they:
- Had been diagnosed with diabetes (40%)
- Had an annual household income less than $25,000 (29%)
- Were 65 years of age or older (20%)
- Had high blood pressure (25%)
