Throughout the year the program consistently partnered with: Caroline County Health Department, Chesapeake College,. Mid-Shore Behavioral Health, Wraparound MD, Federalsburg Lions Club, Town of Denton, Shore United Health, Knights of Columbus, Caroline County Public Schools, Caroline County Council of Arts and Chesapeake Culinary Center.
What Works
The program coordinator remained in contact with the Caroline County Public Schools Staff and Teachers to monitor mentees success in school. The one on one mentors monitored their mentee's well being and behavior in and out of school as part of the program. If a mentor felt their mentee was at risk of being referred to DJS the mentor brought it to the program coordinator's attention and the families were referred to community based options and community resources to avoid a referral to DJS.
