Story Behind the Curve
Each grant year, fire departments are given up to 54 smoke detectors for the Smoke Alarm Saturday event. In the years 2019 and 2021, Lincoln County had only 1 participating fire department in the event those years and had installed 54 smoke detectors. In 2020, there were two departments that had participated in the event. Each department installed 54 detectors, bringing the total to 108.
