Story Behind the Curve
The Hoke County Health Department increased outreach events from 12 in 2022 to 24 in 2023 and hosted three listening sessions to engage the community more effectively. These events were strategically planned to reach target audiences most vulnerable to mental health challenges and aligned closely with suicide prevention efforts. Focusing on high-impact opportunities, we connected with those in greatest need, providing education, resources, and support. This growth highlights our dedication to reducing stigma, increasing awareness, and fostering a community-wide approach to suicide prevention.
