Measure Definition
This measure compares the number of cases paying towards arrears during the federal fiscal year as compared to cases with arrears due, expressed as a percentage.
This is a federal measure calculated at the end of the federal fiscal year that ends on September 30th.
Story Behind the Curve
Arrears collections peaked in Federal Fiscal Years (FFYs) 2020 and 2021 due to the issuance of economic stimulus payments that were intercepted by ORS for past-due support. Since then, the collection rate has trended downward, though it's held fairly consistent with a slight uptick for FFY 2024.
