This indicator reflects data collected from the Public Health Workforce and Needs Survey (known as “PH WINS.”) This is a national survey of state and local public health workforces and is administered by the de Beaumont Foundation and the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials. PH WINS is administered nationally every 3 years. Public Health Department staff last completed this survey in Fall 2021. PH WINS assesses employee retention rates that are stratified by race, gender, and staff level. We don’t have control over the PH Wins survey questions, and thus are not able to obtain the same stratifications we would get from a survey conducted ourselves. PH WINS will be administered again in Summer 2024.
