Data Discussion
Keep in mind that some sample sizes may be small when reviewing percentages.
Footnotes from Data Source: Race is provided only for those students who are not Hispanic and students who identify as Hispanic are shown as Hispanic only. Race may not be available for every student, therefore, the sum of students across all race or ethnicities may not add up to the overall count. Census tracts are determined based on students’ September residency in the associated academic year. Some students did not have a census tract reported in the original data and these students are assigned the census tract that corresponds to the school of attendance. Only kindergarten students that took the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment in the applicable school year are included in the analysis. A student was considered proficient if the student has a score of 1. MSDE data suppression rules applied to groups less than 10 to protect privacy.
