Measure Definition
An autopsy assistant should be able to perform an autopsy with little to no dissecting errors. The purpose of documenting errors is to inform leadership on areas that may require remedial training or adjustments in tools and equipment.
The primary purpose of this measure is to assess the precision and quality of work performed during the dissection phase of an autopsy. Dissection is a critical step in the death investigation process; any errors in this phase can compromise the integrity of the entire autopsy report and potentially lead to inaccurate findings regarding the cause and manner of death.
The data for this measure shows the percent of examinations with dissection errors and is calculated as follows:
- Number of dissection errors/Number of examinations x 100%
