In FY 2017, the Family Services Division (FSD) received 20,985 reports (intakes) about suspected child abuse or neglect. As a result of those calls, FSD initiated 5,573 child safety interventions involving 2,852 assessments and 2,721 investigations.
Since FY 2013, there has been a 28% increase in suspected child abuse or neglect reports.
