Story Behind the Curve
07/2023: CCJ is now tracking this performance measure separately from the number of clients who successfully completed a court-ordered substance abuse evaluation. In some cases a substance abuse evaluation is court-ordered but substance abuse treatment is not recommended. (7/18/23, SS)
07/2022: In examining the number of clients court-ordered to SA services versus the number of clients who successfully completed SA services in FY21-22, out of 187 clients who were court-ordered to complete substance abuse services, 181 of those clients successfully completed the program or continued to successfully participate in services at the time of discharge. SS
07/2022: As of FY21-22, due to the hiring of a new Executive Director in Oct. 2021, the number of clients who successfully completed court-ordered substance abuse treatment is understood to mean the number of clients who are either currently engaged in substance abuse services at the time of discharge and the number of clients who successfully completed any level of court-ordered substance abuse services. SS
FY20-21: Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and quarantine, there were fewer arrests during this period which created fewer clients sentenced to probation. There was also a delay in all court hearings during the quarantine so this created a large time lag for cases to be adjudicated and put on probation during this period.
Numbers may be low for 2019 data...only 6 months of surveys collected for year, one full time PO did not complete their surveys before going on extended leave.

Action Plan
Added Client ID numbers to all surveys...easier to check what surveys have and have not been collected moving into FY 20-21. Will also be able to report a full year of data moving forward.
