The purpose of this indicator is to provide context on tenure types in Jersey and is tracked through the census. In 2021, 53.5% of occupied properties in Jersey were owner-occupied compared to 54.3% in 2011. 24% of housing was in the qualified private rental market (10,739 dwellings) and another 13% (5,826 dwellings) was in the social rental sector. The remaining 9% of dwellings (4,148) were in the unqualified sector.
