H-PM 3.1e: # of clients who received physical and dental health services
Current Value
2,564
Definition
Physical health services include a range, from In-Home Nursing and Home-Based Hospice to Adult Day Center care.
Story Behind the Curve
Effective FY23 reporting (and retroactively): Physical and dental health services are reported together, rather than separately. Previously, dental care was its own performance measure ( Health HPM 3.1a: # of patients served by the Story County Dental Clinic (annual calculation)).
FY20-21 Note: The decline in numbers in FY19-20 and again in FY20-21 are due to the extended coronavirus pandemic. This limited some in-person services. In addition, as of 2020, MICA no longer offers dental services, including child dental vouchers or fluoride varnish. Dental services for those uninsured/underinsured in Story County are offered at Primary Health Care Inc. as of 2021.
