Story Behind the Curve
September 2021: The coronavirus pandemic resulted in declines in individuals utilizing public transportation (HIRTA) and also in volunteer drivers available to provide door-to-door service (RSVP).
Partners
The funded partners whose data is aggregated here include:
- Central Iowa RSVP: Volunteer Driver Program - # of clients being transported
- Heart of Iowa Regional Transit Authority (HIRTA) - unduplicated Story County riders
- Wheels for Work program - vehicle recipients
Several other partner agencies provide gas or bus vouchers to assist their clients (for example: Legal Aid, Good Neighbor, and ACCESS); however, as these are not explicitly ASSET-funded services, these are not tallied here.
