About the Indicator
Healthy People 2030 sets data-driven national objectives to improve health and well-being over the next decade. It includes a national goal of increasing social and community support. People’s relationships and interactions with family, friends, co-workers, and community members can have a major impact on their health and well-being.
This indicator measures the proportion of older adults in California who agree or strongly agree that people in their community are willing to help each other, as self-reported on the California Health Interview Survey. Increasing this proportion and reducing disparities is a key indicator of progress toward Goal 3 of the Master Plan for Aging.
