Story Behind the Curve
Each year Baltimore County HHS inoculates its staff and residents with the seasonal flu vaccine. In 2020, HHS distributed additional messaging urging residents of all ages and risk levels to receive the vaccine to minimize the risk of flu complications during the COVID-19 pandemic. In mid-October, HHS held a weekend drive thru vaccination clinic at a central location, which helped boost the number of people vaccinated by HHS to 2,439 people. Additionally, 1,700 doses were given to the Fire Department, 307 doses to the Department of Corrections, and another 75 doses were given to workers in the Central Communications Center.
