Story Behind the Curve
The Alcohol Law Enforcement (ALE) is North Carolina’s lead enforcement agency for the state’s alcohol control. These citations are for retailers who are found to be out of compliance with state alcohol beverage laws. Local ALE liaisons and state-level ALE agents administer these citations. Consequences for businesses, in which suspension of their liquor license is possible, are determined at monthly Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission meetings.
