Story Behind the Curve
1 youth out of 21 new referrals was successfully matched for one to one monitoring. In the 4th quarter the YMCA Mentoring Program went through a transition and began the process to move to a group mentoring program for FY23. A new program coordinator came onboard in May to transition the program from one on one mentoring to a group format.

Throughout the year the program consistently partnered with: Caroline County Health Department, Chesapeake College, Mid-Shore Behavioral Health, Wraparound MD, Federalsburg Lions Club, Town of Denton, Shore United Health, Knights of Columbus, Caroline County Public Schools, Caroline County Council of Arts and Chesapeake Culinary Center.
What Works
The program faced some challenges during the Covid-19 pandemic but remained strong with loyal mentors that have been volunteering in the program for many years. These mentors support the transition from one to one mentoring to a group format.
