The number of youth receiving mentoring services inccreased from FY21 to FY23 which we believe due to Covid-19 many more youth had a need for mentoring services.  The FY22 and FY23 numbers are duplicative.

FY23

The program has reached it's capacity and youth are on waiting lists.  A community center being built will serve as the home of the Program in FY24 and more youth will be able to be served.

Throughout the year the program consistently partnered with:  Caroline County Health Department, Chesapeake College,. Mid-Shore Behavioral Health, Wraparound MD, Federalsburg Lions Club, Town of Denton, Shore United Health, Knights of Columbus, Caroline County Public Schools, Caroline County Council of Arts and Caroline County Commissioners.  The partner list has grown considerably from prior years. 

This program has been operating as a grass roots program for 12 years.  Some mentees join the program as young as 4 and remain in the program until they graduate.  Youth remain engaged in the mentoring program.  Youth enjoyed attending field trips in the spring that have included trips to businesses and colleges.  4 of the mentees graduated in May 2022 and they enjoy participating as junior mentors when their schedules allow.  

FY22-

The youth were served all year long in the mentoring program.  These are duplicated numbers for each half year.  4 youth graduated in May 2022.  We anticipate growth in the number of youth in the program because we have indentified a need in this resource because Covid has caused social emotional behaviors in youth. 

FY23

The data is duplicated numbers from the HFY1 to HFY2.  The data reflects the number of youth served in each HFY plus newly served in HFY2.
