Story Behind the Curve
Parolees can return to incarceration by having their parole revoked for a technical violation or for committing a new crime, or a combination of the two. For FY24 (July 2023-June 2024), there was a total of 73 parole violations that resulted in a revocation. Of the total revocations in FY24, 60.3% were due to committing a new crime (can include a technical violation as well) and 39.7% were due to technical violations.
