his indicator reports the number and percentage of adults age 18 and older who report ever having been told by a doctor, nurse, or other health professional that they have kidney disease (excluding kidney stones, bladder infection, or incontinence).

Comparison

Story Behind the Curve

The difference between women and men was higher in the health district (4.0% to 1.4%) as compare to the state (2.7% to 2.1%).

When looking at age, the highest percentage is in the 65+ group in both the health district and the state, as to be expected.  However, while at the state level only 0.7% of the population 18-44 report having ever been told they had kidney disease, 2.8% of that age group in this health district reported this.

While there is a difference at the state level between the percentage of minority versus white/non-hispanic (3.9% to 2.0%) the difference is much greater in this health district (7.9% to o.8%) (2019).
