Story Behind the Curve
ABC stands for Alcoholic Beverage Control. North Carolina is one of 17 states that regulates alcohol purchasing/consumption through a state-controlled system. The ABC compliance checks are performed by local ABC liaison officers or state ALE agents. Compliance checks received are an important performance measure of understanding the consistency of doing the compliance checks. Any observed violations are reported to ABC Legal. Violations could result in a fine and/or license suspension.
