Story Behind the Curve
ABC stands for Alcoholic Beverage Control. North Carolina is one of 17 states that regulates alcohol purchasing/consumption through a state-controlled system. The ABC compliance checks are performed by local ABC liaison officers or state ALE agents. These compliance checks are a best practice to maintain safe retailer practice and policy compliance. Any observed violations are reported to ABC Legal. Violations could result in a fine and/or license suspension.
