Story Behind the Curve
Once a patient's telepsych visit has been completed, a summary of care and recommendations is then sent to patient's primary care provider. Once reviewed, an in-person follow up appointment is then encouraged so that the patient may discuss the telepsych visit with their PCP and create a plan of care.

- Summary of care being provided to primary care with recommendations
Whats hurting:
- Cost
- Stigma such as peer judgement
- Difficulty in attending, remembering, and desire to particpate in followup appointments

What Works
Offering a convenient and cost-effective method to obtain mental health services:
- Education and awareness of importance of mental health; help break stigma of receiving care
- Work with providers and staff to incorporate a follow up appointment monitoring system to help with no-shows
- Increase community awareness of telepsych program
Action Plan
- Partner with NC STeP to provide a welcoming and accepting environment to discuss mental health barriers and to provide convenient appointments based on the needs of the patient.
- Encourage telepysch providers to ensure patient is aware of plan of care and recommendations at the end of each visit
