Story Behind the Measure
Macon County Public Health began offering primary care services two years ago due to lack of primary care physicians in the area. These services were need to fill a gap due to physicians not accepting new patients, regarless of insurance status, and to help fill a need in the community. With the addition of a full-time nurse practioner position to support the School Based Health Center, MCPH increase from 1.25 FTE to 2.0 FTE medical providers.
