Story Behind the Curve
The number of non-motorized fatalities and serious injuries is a measure proposed in the 2024-2050 Columbus Area Metropolitan Transportation Plan as well as highlighted in MORPC’s Central Ohio State of Safety Report. MORPC’s target for this measure is to reduce the number of non-motorized fatalities and serious injuries by 8 percent from 2017 to 2025. An 8% decrease from 2022 to 2026 would result in an outcome target of 125 non-motorized fatalities and serious injuries in Franklin County.
